Delivery Snake
A game submitted for the Spring 2024 SodorJam! The theme was:
"You Have To Leave It Behind"
In this twist on the classic game of Snake, players must collect the pellets that spawn across the board in order to grow longer - but there's a catch:
IN ORDER TO SCORE POINTS, YOU MUST LEAVE IT BEHIND
If you can bring your entire body into the green "Delivery Zone" your trailing segments will be removed, and points will be added to your score:
The Bigger Your Delivery, The More Points You Will Score
Will you risk it all and go for a big score? Or will you play it safe and slowly accumulate points? The power is in your hands!

This game was made in roughly two weeks while I was moving so forgive the jank. There is a known issue where a body segment will sometimes have a wonky offset on the frame immediately after pickup, but will snap right into place on the immediate frame afterwards.

I like the clever twist on the snake game concept. Controls are responsive, no bugs or glitches that I could find. If you continue work on this, I'd love to be able to see the multiplayer (that I presume is factored in for having a bigger and bigger body to deposit in the green area) in the score display for that extra dopamine hit.
